Easter Treats!
I tested out two, new kid-friendly Easter treats {& who am I kidding, we adults loved them too!} , that will be perfect for any upcoming Easter gathering you might have!

Easter Birds Nests
Delicious update to the classic recipe using Chow Mein noodles!
Ingredients
- 3/4 bag mini marshmallows
- 1/4 c butter
- 4 c Chow Mein Noodles
- 1 bag Cadbury's chocolate eggs
Instructions
-
Spray muffin pan with cooking spray. I used a 24 mini muffin pan BUT you can also use the larger, 12 muffin pan.
-
In a large, microwave safe bowl (or over the stop top in a large pan) melt the butter.
-
If microwaving: Add marshmallows, stir & microwave an additional 45 seconds. Stir, microwave an additional 45 seconds.
If melting over stop top, once the butter is melted, stir in the marshmallows until smooth and melted.
-
Add the Chow Mein noodles to the mixture & stir until coated. With this amount of marshmallows, it will be STICKY but that is good!
-
Spray a little cooking spray on your hands (trust me on this!).
-
Put ~golf ball size scoop of the noodles in each cup of hte muffin pan. Once all of them are full, use your thumbs to scupt the nests with a little hole in the middle
-
Put pan in the refrigerator for at least an hour or so, to set.
-
Fill with a candy egg & enjoy! I found these gorgeous Cadbury Shimmer eggs - they look lovely in the nests!

Layered Peeps Pops
These treats are SO fun!
Ingredients
- 4 Tbsp Butter, divided
- 4 3 oz packages of Peeps in 4 different colors
- 6 cups Crispy Rice cereal divided in 1.5 c
Instructions
-
Prepare an 8 - 9" loaf pan by spraying lightly with cooking spray on the bottom & sides.
-
Divide the peeps by 10s of the same color (10 yellow, 10 green, etc).
-
In a deep, medium sized microwaveable dish, microwave 10 Peeps of the same color with 1 Tbsp of butter for 45 seconds.
-
Stir butter & Peeps together until fully melted & incorporated.
-
Stir in 1.5 cups of Crispy Rice cereal until fully coated.
-
Press firmly into loaf pan.
-
Repeat steps with other Peeps colors.
-
Place pan in refrigerator for ~1 hour to allow it to set. Once set, the loaf will come out easily and also, be easy to slice with a heavy-duty knife.
-
Once set, cut 1" thick slices x 3 wide and you will have 27 treats!
-
Use popsicle sticks or candy sticks to make these pops!
