So much depth of flavor; this is an additive, crave-worthy pasta sauce.
This is SO easy! Make sure your smoker is hot/ready.
Mix all tomatoes, olive oil, italian seasoning, salt and pepper together. Place in a cast-iron pot or disposable pie tins (the acidity from the tomatoes will make a mess of your pans and will not come off!)
Let smoke for 30 - 40 minutes.
Pulse blend in blender until a smooth/chunky consistency.
In a skillet, sautee diced onion, bell pepper and garlic. Once fragrant and softened, add to blender and pulse again.
Add mixture to the large skillet and add 2 cups of beef broth. Let simmer & thicken until you're ready to serve.
